Law of Attraction

Warning: The Law of Attraction – these are my beliefs and not in any way meant to offend or convert, so put your big boy/girl underwear on and try to keep an open mind.

Since my Year 2 has started, it has taken me about 4 months to write and convey my beliefs about the Law of Attraction. I have written and rewritten this segment many times! I didn’t want it to sound too preachy, or too scientific and then it took a drastic religious turn, but somehow I feel the final revision is one that I can publish with confidence while conveying my beliefs.

First let me begin by writing that I whole-heartedly believe in the LOA and Quantum Physics. I believe that our thoughts create our entire existence and how good or bad that existence is for us.

When I talk about the LOA and Quantum Physics, I am often asked about my specific religion or religious backgrounds or asked about which church I attend. Seeing the connection between the two is something that I couldn’t avoid in this post. So here it goes…

The truth is, I don’t believe in organized religion – period. I don’t believe in a place where the very people that are supposed to be helped are not welcomed and judged. I don’t believe in a place where high society can’t sit next to socioeconomically challenged individuals and be treated as equal. I don’t believe in a place that judges those that don’t attend for sake of “saving” or can’t tithe in equal amounts.

It’s actually ironic, since I completed my undergraduate degree from a private Christian University, but whatever – it is what it is… I actually don’t believe in well? any documented religion - (Gasp! Shocker!). I’m probably one of the most spiritual people you’ll ever meet and yes, I curse too much, I’m impatient and tough, but again, I am also spiritual. And, although I am close to “energy” that most of you would call “God”, science is at the root of my spirituality. I do not dismiss the belief that there is a higher power frequency than myself, I just choose to classify that higher power differently.

(This wasn’t always the case. The death of my brother put my entire life into different perspective and has changed it far better than I could have first imagined!)

“I believe that everything in the universe is made up of energy and information, including you, your emotions and your belief systems. Your body, your being, is no different in its makeup from the body of the universe, of God, or (insert whatever vernacular you prefer). The universe is clearly purposeful, with an intelligence supporting its creation and continuing evolution, and we are pieces of this intelligence by virtue of having emerged from it. “

Okay, I probably just lost a few readers, but I feel the need to explain my beliefs – NOT persuade you to believe them too…mmmkay?

Continuing on...
1. The LOA means that like attracts like and the “like” is transmitted from our every thought. Your thoughts and intentions, the things you focus on and hold in your mind, trigger a transmission of energy and information out into the world.

2. In Quantum Physics, EVERYTHING IS energy and energy can NOT be created nor destroyed – it only changes form. In Quantum Physics, this Energy is what most religious people refer to as God (or insert whatever greater power you believe in here), but I call it the Universe or Infinite Intelligence. (I firmly believe that my brother is NOT dead! I believe that he has changed form and that if I look for his energy, I can see it at any time – this scientific realization has brought me the peace I once so desperately needed…)

J.M. said it best when she wrote: “Somewhere along the way many of us got trained – by family, friends, religion, society at large, whoever – to believe that the human condition is predominantly one of suffering. We’re taught to settle, and we’re made to feel guilty if we single-mindedly go after something we want. We go on to believe that our desires are selfish – that our self-love is arrogant and pompous. All our joy and innocence are stripped away as we’re programmed like androids to live lives of servitude and “responsibility.” ….But, when you look at it from a quantum physics perspective, you actually owe it to yourself, to everyone you know, and yes, to the universe, to find your purpose in life, so that you can find your optimum frequency and contribute to the harmony of the big picture.”

The Law of Attraction is exact and never fails. Although I still have so much to learn, I have comprehended beyond question the following circumstances:

“I can’t!” sends out the energy of you can’t – so you won’t!

“I want!” sends out the energy of you don’t have – so you don’t get!

“I will!” sends out the energy of you will – so you do!

“I’m fat, I’m stupid, I’m lazy!” sends out the exact energy to perpetuate those characteristics!

“I’m smart, I’m healthy, I’m happy!” sends out the exact energy to perpetuate those characteristics!

“I’m broke, I’m stuck, I’m poor!” sends out the exact energy to perpetuate those situations!

“I’m whole, I’m free, I’m rich!” sends out the exact energy to perpetuate those situations!

“I’m unworthy, I’m unlovable, I’m angry!” sends out the exact energy to perpetuate those relationships!

“I’m worthy, I’m in LOVE, I’m content!” sends out the exact energy to perpetuate those relationships!

Get it?

Marinade on the fact that YOUR current circumstances are in direct correspondence to EXACTLY how YOU have thought – not because some outside force/God is rewarding you or testing your strength.

Too often, “religion” portrays and mistakes a healthy ego strength and prosperity for greed and ostentation, but the truth is, I believe, that unleashing our passion and pursuing the things we want and deserve brings us to our higher truth, allowing us to become whole. Ultimately, our happiness is what we owe the world. I believe that when we are healthier and happier, we are in the best position to give back to our loved ones and to the world at large – this is the “religion” that I believe in.

In its most basic form – this is the Law of Attraction.
