Road Less Traveled

What is the road less traveled? What does that actually mean?

What it means to me is this:

One day you wake up and realize that day in and day out – you are in robot mode. You get up, perform the same routine and then go to sleep only to repeat the next day.

Then reality breakdown strikes – “Where is the “life” in my life? There has to be something more… How did I get to this weight? Why do I never have any energy? Why do I suffer at a job that I don’t like? Why? Why? Why?”

The road less traveled is not about asking why – it’s about acting out why not?! It’s about putting the “life” back into your life!

Take a last minute trip to somewhere that will bring smiles to everyone’s faces! Skip the afternoon meeting and go watch a movie and eat lots of popcorn! Get up at the crack of dawn and go run/walk until the sun rises! You will be amazed at how much happiness these things will bring to your LIFE! Don’t get stuck in robot mode because you think these things aren’t possible – make the decision that they ARE possible and then plan to make them happen!

Not long ago I wrote a post and included these words:

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by and that has made all the difference.” Robert Frost

Today I took the road less traveled by and will forever more. Today for the first time I was inspired to keep walking for me and me only. I do most of the things in my life for the benefit of other people and I do not regret that in the least bit. But, today – today I chose to go down a less traveled road for MY benefit.

All too often we go down the most traveled road there is in our life out of conformity, family, friends, or convenience. Very seldom do we take the road less traveled – especially in our eating habits and workouts – because you know why? It. Is. Too. Damn. Hard. I challenge you to look inside and see where you are traveling down an open highway of – fill in the blank – stop and look for a road that diverges from the simplistic easy - of something you desperately want - and then take that road less traveled and create the miracles you know you are capable of producing.

Do not fear change or failure. Because to venture down the road less traveled takes courage and courage overcomes fear and the change itself will be the reward you truly seek. When you decide to take a chance on something you believe in and KNOW that it is going to be a bumpy road, but you keep on trucking anyway? – there IS NO failure! You just learn and keep on going!”

These words that I wrote apply to everything we have, say or do in our lifetimes. There is a huge, wide world out there and each one of us was meant to live it to the fullest and happiest extent possible!

I found my way to the road less traveled and then life happened and somehow I ended up back in robot mode. This morning I reminded myself that it is okay to change lanes every once in a while and long as I keep working toward and adding life's value to my own life.

The road less traveled is one tough mother - but it is 100% worth the journey!

My advice? Go ahead and make all the difference in your life now - don’t be afraid to get a few thorns in your ass, just jump over the flipping bushes and land on a road that will lead you to new discoveries and potentially make all your dreams come true! Try it -I dare you!

Safe traveling!
