Food

Food. What can I write, only that we need it to survive.

I had a love/hate relationship with food - had.

I LOVED to eat it and HATED it for what it did to my ass!

Since the first of the year and my insanely hard New Year’s Resolution to have six-packed abs by the end of the year, I have become more aware of food - I have learned on my journey and educated myself on what, how much and why to eat particular foods. Is it working? Well yes mostly, but I do sometimes crave the nasty, grotesque yumminess of fried fat foods!

From my Law of Attraction readings I have learned a very important lesson when it comes to food – one that I am consciously trying to reinforce daily: Food is not responsible for my added weight. It was my thinking that food was responsible for my added weight that made food put on added weight. I should not give more power to food outside of sustaining my life. I’m learning to let go of those limiting thoughts because in reality, food cannot cause me to put on weight, unless I think it can! I know too many skinny people that eat a lot worse than I do and you know what they say? “I can eat anything I want and never gain a pound…” and guess what? They never gain a pound because they don’t give the power to food to do anything else. You know what I say? “I shouldn’t eat this (while shoveling it down my throat) it will go straight to my ass!” and VOILA! I give it power to add weight to my ass!

Got it?

I have also learned that convenience doesn’t ever excuse a bad food choice because all of the fast food places in my area have healthy choices or healthier substitutions on their menus! (Did you know that you can order a burger with a 100% wheat bun? Really!) Damn!

I have learned to tune into my body’s “fullness” signals and they don’t include elastic waistbands or the unbuttoning of the pants! "Full" no longer means wobbling out of a restaurant, uncomfortable with my stomach protruding out profusely!

I have learned that I eat what is at my house, so if my pantry and fridge are stocked with fresh fruits and veggies then that is what I eat! Duh! Sounds so simple now…

I have learned that portion control can be obtained by buying the simple paper plates with the divided 3 areas on them! Oh and the BIGGER area on the plate is for veggies! That is also important to know - so no stacking it with bad carbs or protein! Another damn!

I have learned a lot…

And I still have a lot to learn!

Year 2 is going to be about cooking – yes ME cooking – like with ingredients and stuff! I can’t promise that we will have an edible dinner every night, but I can promise to stock the pantry with fresh fruits and veggies and maybe some peanut butter and jelly for emergencies!

Stay tuned…

(NOTE: You will notice that I wrote about food only and not drink. Although I believe that everyone should be drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day –I also believe that a little alcohol (wine) on most days is very healthy in the sense that it thins the blood and can be quite the medicinal remedy! And remember that what I THINK – IS. ;-) This note is my opinion only and not to be misconstrued as professional advice.)
